Professional Standards

This section explains how this practice operates and the professional standards that guide it. It is intended to provide clarity before coaching begins.

Scope of Practice

Discover Wellness provides wellness coaching.

Wellness coaching is a collaborative, client-led process centered on awareness, reflection, and sustainable change. It creates structured space for clarity and practical forward movement.

This work aligns with professional standards upheld by organizations such as the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching and the International Coaching Federation.

Wellness coaching does not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or therapeutic care. It may complement other forms of care, but it does not replace them.

When clinical support is needed, care from a qualified healthcare professional is appropriate.

Client Led Partnership

Coaching at Discover Wellness is grounded in partnership and mutual clarity.

Clients are viewed as capable and resourceful. Sessions are shaped collaboratively, with the client guiding focus and pace.

When action steps are identified, they arise through reflection and conversation rather than prescription.

The coaching relationship may be reviewed periodically to ensure it continues to feel aligned, steady, and meaningful.

Roles and Responsibilities

Clear roles help the coaching relationship remain steady and effective.

As coach, my role is to provide a structured and supportive space for reflection, ask thoughtful questions, maintain confidentiality, and remain within the scope of wellness coaching.

As client, your role is to guide the direction of conversation, engage honestly to the extent you feel comfortable, make decisions aligned with your values, and take responsibility for actions you choose to pursue.

Communication between sessions is welcome for scheduling or brief clarification. Coaching work itself takes place within scheduled sessions unless otherwise discussed.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is central to creating a safe and professional coaching environment. Conversations are kept confidential within professional and legal limits.

Brief session notes may be kept to support continuity and are stored securely.

Sessions are not recorded or transcribed by default. Recording or transcription would occur only with your knowledge and explicit consent.

Confidentiality may be limited in specific situations defined by law, such as risk of harm or mandated reporting requirements.

Boundaries and Referrals

Professional responsibility includes recognizing when additional or alternative support would better serve your wellbeing.

If coaching alone is not the most appropriate next step, referrals to other forms of care may be suggested.

This reflects commitment to your wellbeing and adherence to professional scope.

Professional Training and Credentials

Jarred Green holds certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and is completing training toward National Board Certification in Health and Wellness Coaching.
